AAUW Ohio Convention 2020 Rescheduled
AAUW Ohio is watching developments of our current health crisis as we project when we might gather for a combined Convention 2020 and Fall Summit. Assuming now that the bans on gathering will ease by fall, the Ohio Board has chosen a September date. Please save September 12, 2020 to plan to gather at the Quest Polaris Conference Center in Columbus.
The board anticipates that the cost of the combined convention and summit will remain the same as convention alone. Those who have already registered for Convention 2020 may choose to leave their registration in anticipation of the fall event or they may email president.aauwoh@gmail.com by May 1 to request a refund.

National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) Scholarships for BGSU Students
Four BGSU students received scholarships to attend the 2020 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL). The scholarships were designated for Ohio STEM students and cover the cost of registration and air travel to and from the conference. Thanks to Resmi KrishnankuttyRema for nominating these students!
As a result of the ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19 and the impact from travel restrictions and need for physical distancing, this year’s NCCWSL conference has been postponed.
AAUW National’s Work to Ensure Women’s Financial Futures
As part of the 2020 Gender Policy Agenda, AAUW is pushing for policies that will protect women and their families, including paid leave, access to high-quality health care and stronger Social Security benefits. In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, those priorities are even more urgent. That’s why we’re partnering with other organizations to advocate for paid sick leave for public health emergencies. It’s critical for women to be able to take care of themselves and their loved ones without worrying about a lost paycheck or retaliation from their boss.
