The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Bowling Green Branch has worked to advance equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy since 1938.
Through Tech Trek Camp, we are helping to level the playing field for girls and women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Over the past seven years, the camp has helped almost 350 girls in Ohio explore STEM careers through coursework, professional women’s nights, and field trips.
By offering local AAUW Start Smart and Work Smart workshops and raising awareness of Work Smart Online, we’re helping to close the pay gap. Women in the U.S. typically make 82 cents for every dollar paid to men. In our congressional district, it’s only 75 cents. Women of color make even less.
